An Estate Agency will look after its interest before
yours
Another
reason is that, even if you do work with a reputable Estate Agency, not
all of them are strong in the same area of Tenerife. It happens all the
time to my clients: they think they want to be in one particular area
-sometimes they stayed there before and it is the only place they know.
However, once they know Tenerife better, it is not unusual that they change
their mind. In this case they have to find another estate agency in their
newly chosen area. This takes precious time and is a hassle.
Also, sometimes estate agencies are linked to the owners of a particular
property, have special terms agreed on certain deals with builders...
or want to sell properties that they own themselves!
Thus, the agency may try to push you in a direction you would rather not
take otherwise.
Since I am not committed to any estate agency, and not having other interests
related to your buy, I can provide you with really independent advice
and information, so you have a really good snapshot of the market at any
given moment. After I have shown you the best properties in your chosen
area, it is completely up to you to decide.
